PS Structures Pty Ltd has won a $32.6 million contract to build the first stage of a new secondary college in Yanchep.

PS will construct a number of buildings and facilities at the $57.2 million school, catering for students from Years 7 to 11 and providing space for 725 students when it opens its doors in 2019.

Works under the contract includes construction of an administration building, student services and a medical centre, as well as an information resource centre, classrooms, staff faculties, science and technology blocks, a textiles studio, four labourites, a sports hall and cafeteria. Treasurer Mike Nahan said that Yanchep is no longer a country town, and a district high school has no place in what is effectively outer metropolitan Perth. Yanchep District High School will revert to being a dedicated primary school.
