Project Overview

Case Study LOLOATA ISLAND DIVE RESORT PORT MORESBY, PNG SOLUTION GRAF provided and installed 2 x 18 kl systems on the island that are currently treating the waste from the construction workforce. A 5kl system on the mainland was also installed. One of the deciding factors in choosing the GRAF wastewater treatment plant was because GRAF had proven to have a number of systems already operating successfully in other locations for this particular developer and was able to supply a flat, packable system that was easily shipped and can be assembled easily on site. When the resort is complete, the site will be landscaped so that the treatment plant will be almost unnoticeable. BACKGROUND A new dive resort and conference centre, currently being built on a small Island off the coast of Port Moresby, PNG required a wastewater system for the 300 person construction workforce working on the resort, and ultimately the staff and resort guests. This project was very challenging due to the lack of level ground available, hence the need to position the treatment plant into the tide, enabled by the construction of a sea wall to protect the system. The client required a system that was easily transportable and lightweight, to reduce transport costs.
