Project Overview

CASE STUDY Canning Vale 207 Shreeve Road, Canning Vale, WA PURCHASING STORE: Reece Plumbing - Port Kennedy PRODUCT: Five 25,000L Platin XXL underground flat tanks INSTALLATION PLUMBER: SA Plumbing & Gas In addressing flood mitigation for the project, the client opted for an innovative approac h focused on sustainability and sel f-sufficiency. Instead of relying on tradition al stormwater management systems, t hey chose to implement a large-scale rainw ater harvesting solution. The system involve d the installation of five 25,000-litre Platin tanks, designed to collect and store rainwa ter for reuse in landscaping areas. This stra tegy not only aims to manage excess water but also to enhance environmental sustainability. Overview PROJECT OVERVIEW The Solution The solution implemented was the installation of five large Platin rainwate r tanks, each with a capacity of 25,0 00 liters. These tanks were strategically set up to capture and store rainwater, which would otherwise contribute to flooding.

The Benefits Enhanced Flood Management: The installation of multiple large tank s helps in storing substantial volum es of rainwater, thereby prevent ing overflow and reducing the ris k of flooding. By managing the e xcess water effectively, the system prevents it from overw helming existing drainage sys tems and discharging uncontrollably into council pits. Sustainable Water Use: Collecting and reusing rainwater fo r landscaping is a highly sustainab le practice. It reduces reliance on municipal water supplies and lo wers the overall environmental footprint by conserving valuable resources. Cost-Effective Landscaping: Using harvested rainwater for irrigation ca n significantly reduce water bil ls associated with maintaining gr een areas. This cost-effective appr oach ensures that the landscaping re mains lush and healthy without the added expense of conventional water sources. By managing the excess water effectively, the system prevents it from overwhelming existing drainage systems By diverting this rainwater into the tanks, the system effectively mitigate s the risk of flooding by controlling a nd storing excess water. The collec ted rainwater is then repurposed for irrigation and landscaping, ensuring that the system supports both flood management and sustainable water use
