01

Challenge

Barratt Homes' Riverside Quarter in Mugiemoss needed flood protection on a hilly profile while meeting Scottish Water's 35.1 L/s run-off limit. Cover depths varied across the site, so a single crate type was not efficient.

02

Solution

GRAF UK designed and installed two bespoke systems. Phase one: 1,929 m³ using 2,120 EcoBloc Maxx, 6,200 EcoBloc Light and 140 EcoBloc Flex. Phase two: 1,678 m³ using 7,189 EcoBloc Maxx and 146 EcoBloc Flex. Heavier Maxx modules were used where cover exceeded 560 mm; lighter modules elsewhere cut cost.

03

Outcomes

  • Phased 1,929 m³ and 1,678 m³ attenuation volumes
  • Mixed Maxx / Light / Flex matched stepped cover depths
  • Sized for 1-in-100-year storm plus 20% climate contingency
