Challenge
Topaz's Citywest service station needed SuDS that could flood-protect a busy forecourt, carry heavy vehicles, and fit tight depth and footprint limits, plus a sustainable supply for the on-site car wash after an initial proposal failed those constraints.
Solution
FM Environmental and GRAF UK installed a 240 m³ EcoBloc Inspect Flex attenuation tank in an impermeable membrane, releasing to the storm system at a controlled rate, plus a 10,000 L Carat XXL underground tank feeding the car wash. Published install of the GRAF system took two days.
Outcomes
- 240 m³ shallow SuDS attenuation under forecourt traffic
- 10,000 L Carat XXL rainwater supply for car wash
- Described as coping with 1-in-100-year extreme storms
